Hi All. I am from Humble, Texas ( outside houston). I wanted to ride motorcycles for some time now so I made the choice to start this summer. I completed my MSF course and also got my class M license from the DPS office. I have already decided on a bike a Kawasaki Ninja 500R. The problem that I am running into is that I am only 20 years old and new to the world from the stand point of credit agencies. All the dealerships I have gone to can’t approve me for credit. So my question is does anyone know any dealers that can work with first time buyers?

Get a co-signer. Dealers will work with anyone. They’ll try to get you a loan any way possible (with or without a co-signer) with the local banks they work with. Don’t go through manufacturer credit though. If you’re ever late on even one payment it’s done, you’re interest will go up and F you in the A bigtime for the duration of the loan.

Thanks for the advice. I wish I could have a co – signer but my parents are looking for a new car themselves so thry don’t want to sign on two vehicles I also tried for a loan at the bank where I have my checking account but they couldn’t help either. At this point I think I’m going to have to save up and buy a used bike

Hey Pope, I went the manufacturers route, I’ll have to make sure I make my payments on time.

really, for a first bike, used is best. I can understand a bit more people who buy a new 250cc, because they’re really only like 3k new, but $5k-6k or more? when you can get a used one only a couple years old for nearly half that.
