ParticipantHi all!
I try to find new motorcycle (my first one).
My experience as rider is very poor but good enough to tell me what I want. In 1990’s I had drive old soviet IZH Jupiter, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, 350cc, 25hp. It was heavy for me (in my junior age) but I always feel no sympathy to “feather weight” mopeds. Same age boys was very happy riding 50cc mopeds but I dislike such kind of fun and prefer simple bicycle or my grandfather’s IZH, but most time it was attached with sidecar.
Long time ago I have no other experience but I hope it is no problem for me to refresh or gain new skills.
Now I feel some attraction to motorcycles and start thinking about how to choose right one.
I found dealers in my country (Ukraine) have very short model list from ‘”grand” brands. They can sell $10k-15k models but have almost no budget models, especially in cruiser-like class.
As I research on the net and this website the best choice for me would be Vulcan 500. But this model unreachable in my country, dealer wrote me in email, this is exclusive US internal market model. Thanks to Kawasaki dealer, he answer my question. Honda dealer is mute as fish for my request for availability of Rebel 250cc… But I suppose this model is unreachable too.
I found few cruiser-like motorcycles in local store, but there is “made in China/Korea” and this fact is push me away from it. Maybe I’m wrong.
Now I want ask people, who familiar with next few models to tell me what they think about this motorcycles, especially their “value for money” mark.
1. Hyosung GV250 Aquila
2. Keeway LAND CRUISER 250
3. Keeway SUPER SHADOW 250
Or I have opportunity to buy used “Japan brand” motorcycle.I want classic-look motorcycle. Good but not necessary if it will highway speeds capable. Good if it will be high MPG for fuel economy. Good if it will have power enough to comfortable transport lightweight passenger for short distances. Very good if it will be problem free. And sure, I want not to pay for it few “kilobucks”, the less – the better, say $3000 – $6000
If someone can give me recommendation or link I will high appreciate it.P.S. “super country” in topic header – ironic…

ParticipantI can’t tell you much about Keeway because they aren’t here in the US, but if you want a 250cc “classic style” motorcycle then here are your choices based on what I know is available in the US:
1. Honda Rebel 250
2. Suzuki GZ250
3. Yamaha V-star 250 (used to be called Virago 250, they changed the name)
4. Suzuki TU250
5. Hyosung GV250Of these choices I would go with the Yamaha or the Honda if I could. The Hyosung GV250 has gotten mixed reviews so I would be a little weary.
