Started riding 3 weeks ago, thnx to this site I decided on a Vulcan 500. Bike was more then what I was expecting….which is awesome. Being constantly referred to as a smaller bike is misleading as I was thinking 70’s frame style bike. The size is actually that of a modern HD Sportster. I grew up with gear heads that couldn’t hold a normal everyday conversation but would wear your ear out for 2 hours on the difference between a shovel head and a fatboy (still couldn’t tell ya). I watched them guys walk the massive bikes down the dirt roads to see who could drop the biggest rock pile at the end of the road. This kept me from riding for probably more then 20 years (don’t get assuming too much I am in my 30’s). I have looked through this site quite alot and it’s helped me in alot of aspects like gear choices and such. Most importantly my bike. I guess my only suggestion would be….. It seems to have more a slant to the sport bike arena…. no shortage of cruiser reference for sure, but I have learned that the riding styles and techniques are very different. Maybe thread ( if I haven’t found it yet) could be started for comparison?
Anyways….awesome job, come back everyday for new stuff or even to remind myself on the basic stuff I am still drilling in my head.
    Thanks for the hard work.

Thanks, I am taking to it fairly quickly…. Traffic today going to work showed me that 3 mph is my minimum speed before I feel I have to drop my foot.Good or no? Definitely was a good work out for take offs and stops…..and got to play alot with positioning and gearing down. All in all a good morning… never mind I was 5 mins late. Might get to play in the rain tomorrow, 50% says the rain man. Got on the waiting list for MSF but its looking like October before I get the chance.
