Hey everybody, I just decided to join since I’m about as new as new gets when it comes to riding. I’ve actually never had an interest in motorcycles till about 2-3 weeks ago when I saw somebody riding home with a schoolbag on, and I thought “You know, that would be a really great way to commute,” since I’m going to be starting college soon. I pretty much have my mind set on this left over ’07 model Ninja 500 that is at my local cycle center as of now, but I’m waiting till after I complete/pass the safety course to get it since I’d rather not drop a shiny new motorcycle due to a lack of experience. I’ve sat on a Ninja 250 and it honestly feels like I’m sitting on one of those tiny electric cars that are made for toddlers to ride around on. I can’t see myself riding a cruiser bike, nor would I be able to take the handling, but my mom insists that riding a sport bike is going to hurt my back, even though I ride my Cannondale in the same position all the time and I never get sore from it, but I guess that’s just a mom thing.

anywho…. Welcome!July 22, 2009 at 3:34 am #20853VitricParticipantYeah. I’ve thought about getting a 250R recently though, more than I have before, just so I’m less likely to kill myself on it.. plus I’ve heard it’s better for a commuter. I’ve still got a lot to learn though, and I start the MSF course in a week
