My sister asked me to find her a bike to use as a daily commuter, nothing that has to go on the highway but a reliable machine with good fuel economy that isn’t a scooter. Usually this isn’t a problem but I need to make sure it fits both her and her husband relatively well; they have the same arm and leg length but she weighs 115lbs and he is more like 210lbs. Neither of them have much experience, only a little bit of dirt riding though they plan on taking an MSF course. Budget for the bike is $1000 give or take so it needs to be something I can find used. Any suggestions?

look at getting 2 bikes. That’s a big weight difference and there’s no way you’ll get the suspension tuned for both of them. The only thing I can think of for around $1000.00 would be something really old with a lot of miles. Not saying there isn’t a special find out there, but it’s really rare. Search out craig’s list for used bikes and good luck.
