Nah, that isn’t an old man motorcycle. It only has two wheels! And where are the hard boxes? You need at least three!
April 21, 2010 at 4:10 pm #25888AParticipantI had a 1987 k75T prior to my 1985 K100, bullet proof engine, spline lube job every other year require taking off the rear end completely, brake hoses are sh!t replace them with steel braded ones if you can find them, the forks are a bit soft if you havn’t put Progressive fork springs in them.
Very mild mannor bikes, very comfortable for pasengers.. especially with a Corbin seat.May 31, 2010 at 10:17 pm #26841TrialsRiderParticipantMay 31, 2010 at 10:30 pm #26842TrialsRiderParticipantJune 1, 2010 at 4:04 am #26845AParticipantJune 1, 2010 at 11:01 am #26847TrialsRiderParticipantAaaaaaa …A vintage Bultaco, you never mentioned riding Trials.
June 1, 2010 at 10:05 pm #26873owlieParticipantNot for me, but that looks like it would be fun.

June 3, 2010 at 1:40 pm #26894AParticipantso, why not try it.. trials riding builds road riding skills, learn better control/balancing skills.. speed is low, so the likely hood for bodily injury is less severe than road riding, less likelyhood of other traffic to run into.
June 3, 2010 at 2:31 pm #26895eonParticipantI would love to try it but several things stop me.
1. I would need to buy a bike specifically for this purpose.
2. I would need to buy a truck and a trailer to get anywhere I could use it.Not insignificant hurdles. I see a dual sport some time in my future but that’s not exactly a trails bike either.
June 3, 2010 at 9:52 pm #26896TrialsRiderParticipantEon, maybe you could find someone nearby with a truck that would like to get into Trials as well. (2 for 1)
Trials riding is a terrific full body exercise !
A great way to cross train for motocross, enduro and road racers.
Trials bikes consume very little fossil fuel. Some things you can see in a Trials competition that you just won’t find in speed motor sport competitions: Riders in direct competition to each other, regularly offer advice, encouragement and ‘catch’ for fellow competitors.
Caution: Trials is extremely addictive and does tend to render all other motor sports slightly boring.June 4, 2010 at 2:45 am #26898owlieParticipantDon’t get me wrong, its not the gender thing (I train in BJJ- the ratio is 1:7 girls to guys on a good night, 1:30 on a bad night… errr switch that…). Mostly it is just that I’ve never been into motor sports.
I like riding a motorcycle because it gives me time to ground and reconnect with myself. I get off of my usual roads and see more of my community.
Taking up trials? I have no doubt that it is a blast, and that the skills learned are great for street riding. I could give you a handful of excuses for why I’m not going to run right out and try it, but suffice it to say that it isn’t something that I’m interested in trying out this summer.
