Well first of all, greetings to all the riders and future ones out there… lol… So it is said to introduce so that is what I am going to try to do but well from where do I start? Oh yeah I am M… uh… BoOZe from middle of Africa and Australia… Duh…
Intro : My ‘career’ of riding started a few years ago and I have gone through many bad situations and also good ones. My first bike was a 70cc Mondial 4stroke (Chinese) with front single disk brake with 4 pistons(ooouuh yeah)- yeah yeah laugh your intestines out-lol- and it was running fine. 100% stock parts it would do 100km/h and downhill 115km/h or so. I was a noob in manual motorcycles at that time, some two years ago but before that I have been riding 50cc 2stroke autocycles-still laughing ey..- and well still I knew where the controls were and how to clutch in, first gear and lil’gas’in’lil’clutch’out.
Episode 1 : Nevertheless, I enjoyed riding this bike but my gears were sort of pyjamas, sometimes riding in fame to famous shorts n Tee’s. Even if I put a jacket, I would let it open n let it flap ‘coz I found that…cool…ok ok c’mon-lol… Then it happened, what at least all riders have to come across at least once in their life… yeah an accident, minor one hitting a pickup from the back after a successful hydroplaning but I will not go into details, just a big roadrash on my right knee and few lil on my hands(yeah no gloves)…
Episode 2 : Months after the accident, it was during that time that I started to ride everyday without exception and doing at least 80+ km a day and even more some days. I explored the world, came across obstacles and then decided to wear some kind of gloves: fingerless semi-leather then full cloth-like… Duh something is better than nothing… and a jacket… Everything was fine for months until calamity struck…
Episode 3: My motorcycle was modified and I was heading home from work doing around 90-100km/h (it was as if the bike was on constant acceleration compared to a 250cc doing 90 km/h) and my helmet’s visor was open… When suddenly some bugs and insects dived for my retina, as Ben would say… Automatically my left hand let off the bar sweeping away the bugs’ remnants and juices… yuk! and still maintaining my speed. In front of me a stationary bus and as soon as I was about to pass its back deck, a… f*** dog came out of nowhere and I had the time to see where I hit it: ribs and I saw myself flying… tumbling and rolling and skiing long flat on the asphalt because at some time at could see the tar in front of me since my helmet was rubbing against it and then I saw the sky then the asphalt then some crops and dirt and… Fak.. (before I woke up I did not realise the bike’s exhaust burnt my shoulder and was in contact with my forearm for some 5 seconds) I quickly woke up in a sitting position and quickly went to the side to avoid traffic and my Earthquake(bike’s name..hihi) lied beside me, fuel and oil leaking.
Far away, some 20-25 metres up, I could see the dog… lifeless. My bike and me slid or skid or whatever that distance… Felt nothing… Wow it is a miracle.. Then I saw the cloth-like glove torn around the palm… The friction burnt my skin and rubbing against the road damaged the flesh. Dang! Then I saw holes in my classic pants near the knees… NO! Not again.. and well roadrash the size of my hand with lil pebbles in it, blood pouring and on my left knee, same situation except I saw a hole… FAK! Yeah some flesh was missing and its surroundings were a mixture of dust, tar and blood. My left side of jacket was into ribs and I saw the big pool-like area where it was burnt, then my shoulder… Then all the pain came at once and I could not even stand up and well, I got some nerves standing up quickly after I slid… Getting a cut is better than getting burnt by exhaust or friction. On my way to hospital I blacked out once and felt dizzy due to loss of blood…
Episode 4 : I had no surgeries done but constant cleaning of wounds to remove the tar… Even more painful… Had to take 23 pills a day and I was on bed for one and a half week but I did try to walk and doctors told me you got nerves. I could not accept this situation but well, finally I welcomed it. It took me 6-7 weeks till the wounds healed mostly but the area where there was the hole has not yet healed completely..even after months..still kind of white and fleshy but though the other area have healed, I still feel mild pain and the skin is rough and hard. On my palms the wounds are not noticeable but the rest… I will have to live with it, reminding me of that instant. The bike was in shape except for broken pegs and all the stuffs that sticks out on the right area of a bike. Its funny how you thing the bike’s right area was damaged and I was hurt on my left part of body but when I stood up that day my bike lied on it left side! Spooky uh..lol.
Episode 5 : Since that day I ride with thick jeans and knee armour, leather gloves, leather jacket and I saw their efficiency after a hit and run case. I felt nothing and sew the other driver. My helmet protected me thrice and I still wore it until I sold the bike. I was sad but still was happy it was a small bike I have crashed with and had breakups and engine problems… not expensive. Now my future bike, later but it will be treated like a lady
Epilogue: Between the accidents and incidents I was in a biker group called Crazy Riderz and really they were crazy but then I moved away to be a lone wolf and this is how I was able to meet other people with bigger bikes and I have tried some for weeks and all these have made me a better rider, for the moment because you cannot stop learning in bike riding. I have tried many gears and well Astar and AXO are my favourites. I have come across many hazards and situations and have learned much from ‘em but I still feel like a noob. Lol…PS: Sorry for being long and thank you for your patience and time for reading part of my story… This is just a short version with not much details If you have anything to say or any questions, feel 3!
