I got a camera rig set up on my motorcycle today, and I did a test ride (below). The setup that I was using has a little too much vibration, so it kind of sounds like static. I’m about to go out and test two other setups to see if the sound is any better.
This ride starts a little north of Boston, and goes through Boston on Storrow Dr (I get on it around 4 minutes). I’ll try to get some skyline in the next video that I do. Today was only about 45 minutes on the bike, but I had to cut it down to 10, so I skipped a fair amount (it’s all chronological and from the same ride though).
It’s interesting, there’s this “sweet spot” where the the mic doesn’t pick up the engine noise very well at mid rpms (5000 or so). I hit it a couple times near the beginning of the video and the engine sounds like it cuts way down, but it doesn’t actually.
