Hello all. Just felt like putting down on paper (well, er, screen) what I have learned, accomplished so far. I have had my bike for a week now and have managed to ride it everyday. It is my first motorcycle.
I have become comfortable with my clutch and shifting up and down.
I have practiced a lot of hard stops to get the feel for my brakes.
I have learned the whole gas station procedure and how to fill the tank.
I have practiced getting in and out of my garage…way harder than I thought it would be.
I have tackled the dreaded 4-way stop successfully.
I have been working really hard on “looking where I want to go” through the turns.
I have ridden at 55 mph.I’m lucky because my town is small and quiet and I am close to a lot of country roads so finding a place to practice is easy. My first 130 miles have been great and I feel my confidence building. If the weather holds, I’ll have another month before I put her away for the long winter.
Thanks!

He convinced me to ride to a restaurant for lunch yesterday with him and it was great! We sat outside and ate our sandwiches and got some fun comments from other riders who had the same idea since the weather was so nice.

The four-way stop that I went though today was nerve-wracking because even though the guy to my left waved me through when it was my turn, I still had running through my head everyone’s comments about not believing it even when you see it.
