ParticipantHi all, I’m Harold of Nevada and it’s the morning after my class’ graduation of the MSF course and I have to admit, the bike fever hit me a little harder than I expected. This is actually the first site I found last night when looking up reviews for my desired bike (sv 650). Nothing but good things to say and to get a “beginner endorsement” all the better. I think I might be changing my mind in the meantime however. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing I’d love to do more than to go out this week and pick me up a brand new 650, 650sf even better. But there’s plenty I’d rather do than lay down / drop a brand new >$7k bike.
I then started to read all of the Ninja 250 reviews that I found here and some other places. A new bike for ~3g, good resale / toy value when upgrading, and I could care less about me or friends dropping it. So now my plan is to find one of these guys this week (if possible) and enjoy the rest of the summer with the lil 250 and keep my eyes peeled out for my 650 over the winter when I might be able to get a deal off the ’08 sf. It’s a “cake and eat it too” plan.
Anyway, that’s where I’m coming from. It’s back to work now, and off to DMV later.

ParticipantGreat choice. I talked with a former ninja 250 owner last night who now has an SV650. He loves both bikes but said that he is so glad he didn’t start out on the 650. I have the little ninja and couldn’t be happier.

ParticipantYep that is my baby ninja. I was surprised when I showed up to look at the bike. The guy that had it before me took really good care of it. I sort of feel that I owe it to hime to continue the tradition.

ParticipantWhat year? Sorry, I know you’ve probably told me, but I have a terrible memory for stuff like this.

ParticipantIt is an 05 and had a little over 7k on it when I got it. I paid a little over 2k for it.
