Hey there everybody! I am not actually a beginner as I don’t even have a bike yet, but I would love to become one soon! I am a pretty light girl of average height, and my first thought was a Ninja 250r. I’ve read some review about it that say it’s a good starter bike….plus it’s pretty :) Any suggestions? I’m starting completely niave so any advice is very welcome.

My suggestions would be (sportbikes) Ninja 250r, (cruiser/ standards) Honda Rebel, Suzuki GZ250, Buell Blast, (Dual purpose) Kawasaki KLX250, Honda CRF230L or Suzuki DR200.

My personal fave (if you think your tall enough for it) a Suzuki DRZ-400 SM.

Dual sports are fun SuperMotoRider, but you can’t deny how beautiful the new Ninja 250 looks!!! I would get it on looks alone!

I’m a real noob so you probably want to take the advice of the more experienced riders before mine but I’d say don’t even try to make up your mind before you learn to ride. Then you can try out the different types of bikes and see which you like best. When I took the MSF class a quarter of the people there had already bought a bike. I’m not judging. I would’ve probably done the same if I’d had the money but now I’m glad I didn’t. I can’t imagine buying a bike without riding it first. I ended up buying a Virago 250 from the school and I’m really happy with it. It’s easy to ride, it was cheap and it gets great gas mileage. It’s not what I ever pictured myself riding but I think it’s the right bike for me at this point.
