I haven’t ridden in about 20 years. When I did ride a 2-wheeled bike, it was borrowed and I only rode it a few times. I know I don’t want a street bike or Ninja style bike. I prefer a cruiser style bike like a Vulcan 500, VStar 650 Custom, etc…I went to the Yamaha dealer today and they were out of the Vstars, but had a SuperMotard 250 with street tires (WR250X). I was told it would be a good beginner’s bike for me. I’m 6’1″ and 200 lbs. I’m not looking to go on long trips and I’m not worried about highway speeds for now. I want bike to learn on. I’ll upgrade later. Is the WR250X a good beginner’s bike or is a supermotard a bad idea for a beginner?

ps- im sure the wr250x can hit 70mph stocked… dont worry about highway speeds.
