Anybody have any experience with these Pocket Bikes? http://www.minipocketrockets.com/

My son is going to be 10 and he wants one of these so badly for his birthday. I checked out some vids of them on youtube and they seem to be not too dangerous. I told him if I bought him one he would have to wear a helmet and knee/elbow pads. We have a huge parking lot by our condo that he could ride it at. I was just wondering for that cheap of a price if they actually run for more than a day.

A couple of kids on my road have them and they are annoying. They may be louder than my Ninja. The kids are dangerous on them too. The bikes themselves are too low to be seen clearly and will be top heavy due to your son outweighing the bike. Get him a mini bike or an 80cc dirtbike. It is more of a motorcycle experience and will likely be safer and more fun.

That being said, the pocket rockets do look fun.

Man those things are so fun… we had one in the last project I was on… zipping through the office… vrrrooommm… i don’t think they’re that dangerous myself, but a helmet and joint protection should be enough… Or you could get him sized for perforated leathers, just to be safe. :-P

yeah i know a contact who’s son has a dirtbike… these are 2 stroke bikes with engine sized from 35 to 50 cc… and i must say it has the power, for a kid.. so good thinking for protecting your son as he rides… good starter bike for him =))))))
first time i saw these, i thought it had a chainsaw engine, coz you have to pull a rope hard to start the engine..dunno if these are the same…

dang i read and surfed the site@@!!!!! they now have 4t bikes?! 110cc!!!!! but but a 110cc engine and cylinders is big…duh… that’s a poof the world has progressed lotz after twins and I-4///!!! huh huh

I kinda get the idea that they don’t really have the room for a dirtbike where he’s at. and the worst toy is the toy you can’t play with when you want.

one of those pocket bikes can get going pretty quick but they can also be a lot of fun. I figure as long as he’s responsible enough that you believe he won’t be taking it out when you’re not home and he’s unsupervised then it should be ok, remember as kids we could get pedal bikes moving shockingly fast too. keep him off the streets, and out of traffic, and you’ll be fine.
