Well just posting some milestones for me…week 2 of riding.
1. Opened up the rebel 250 to 75 mph and I still had about 1/8 throttle left. Felt every bump, gust of wind, and the bike had slight vibration I can feel on the handles and the footpegs. Though I hate the look, I may have to resort on getting a wind shield ><. 2. I had my first real wipeout. I came on a V turn. The road made a V and not a U, I came across the turn a little fast, and to to top it all off, I didnt turn my head in the direction and looked at the shoulder instead. Well guess where I ended up? I went past the shoulder coming around the V turn and straight into the grass and the back wheel slipped and down I went with the bike. The right side view mirror was bent and I now have a small perfect circular dent on my front right gas tank. No scratches and no major damage. I just bent the mirror back into place, and off I went with bruised ego. In town traffic driving is not a problem, now just have to muster enough courage to hit the Houston Interstate traffic..

Like you , I felt every bump, gust of wind, truck turbulence, etc. The up side: our Rebels cost less, last longer, and probably save more than one newbie life by being forgiving. I WANT an 1800cc cycle. I BELIEVE I CAN HANDLE a 750 and nothing bigger at this stage. Would you have been highway splatter with a bigger cycle?

Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a prediction, but today…… is a Bi**h

Yes I hate the Houston traffic during rush hour, but at some point I am going to have to brave it. I have seen people do it but far and few motorcycles. I am trying to find an alternative route at the moment but I am not sure there is one
I dont think I would have went splat on a bigger bike…as I went into the grass. It was less of bike handling, and more on not correctly judging the entry speed of the V curve.
