ParticipantSo I call my insurance company after I took the MSF course to see if they’d lower my insurance (the course instructors made a point about this and told us to find another insurance company if they won’t come down). They’re response was “umm… we can’t go any lower on your insurance, you’re at the lowest we can offer motorcycle insurance”. This made me raise an eyebrow; I didn’t know they had lower limits. Granted I only have liability but this sounds fishy no?

ParticipantNot necessarily. You may have gotten a different discount that is incompatiable with an MSF discount. For example, they might not give you an MSF discount if you have a Good Driver discount.
Also, not all insurance companies will offer an MSF discount.
Your best bet would be to get a couple of quotes elsewhere, compare them, try to haggle with your current company, and switch if they don’t give you a better rate. This should of course be done in this order, and don’t stay with them if they refuse to lower their rate to be more competitive with another firm.
Best!
