Since I’ve been riding I’ve noticed a few things I miss about bein on 4 wheels and somethings I don’t . The one thing I really don’t miss is talking on the cell phone. One thing I really do miss is music! So now when I am in my truck I crank up the music so much heh. What about yall , do you have somethings like that?

Often times I’ll drive silent in my car. But when I’m ridng, I’m 110% in the ride, even on quiet backroads. Music would just be a distraction.

But there are times in my car when I’ve got the music cranked and I’m doin’ the Rock Star thing down the highway… I just don’t miss it when I’m riding.

The radio doesn’t have anything as awesome to offer as the thrill of riding. Even a fairly mundane ride is better than most radio. Maybe if I could count on the radio having some good Beethoven or Dvorak, but that’s pretty rare.

My bike came with a radio mounted in the left fairing (occupied 1 of 2 glove boxes). I pull it and the amp that lived under the seat and tossed them.
I left the dash speakers. If I ever go on a cross-country trip, maybe I’ll hook them to an Ipod and amp. For now, I’m good with the soulful tones of Kawasaki.
But in the car, radio is always on.

Guess I am the odd ball on the tunes. My helmet has pockets in the ear pads and I have ear buds in them. I don’t always listen to music but theres times where I prefer them. I don’t find the music as a distraction at all as it does nothing to break my attention. At minimal it may get me into a good rhythm while I am cruising the back roads.
Other then that…. I actually show up to work in a bad mood if I have to take the cage. Riding is my time, quiet or not and I enjoy it thoroughly!

But I haven’t been on any rides more than an hour long. For that, the time just flew by because I was having some much fun and focused attention on the ride. We’ll see how it goes in a few weeks when I make my first longer (+200 mile) ride.
