Leather Jacket closeouts

For those of you who don’t get newenough.com’s e-mails, They’ve just put the Cortech Impulse II leather jacket on closeout for $89.00. This is a fully featured leather sport jacket with perforations all throughtout the chest area as well as shoulder vents. I would expect it to be suitable for summer weather, as much as a leather jacket can anyway before nothing less than mesh will do. It also includes a full sleeve liner. It’s made from full grain leather, which is the same grade of leather Alpinestars uses in their jackets. It has both a 360 and 8″ zipper for attaching to compatible pants, although the 360 will only attach to 3 specific pairs of Cortech pants which will also be discontinued soon.

If you can spare the $90 plus shipping, you’d be a fool to pass up this offer. That is, unless you ABSOLUTELY hate look of it, but mark my words you won’t find a better sport leather jacket for a price anywhere remotely near this.

    Other good buys are:

Alpinestars Halo (red and blue variants only)
    Alpinestars SMK (red variant only)
    Alpinestars Octane
    Alpinestars Black Label Ice
    Alpinestars One-O-One
    Alpinestars 7-2
    Alpinestars Stage
    Alpinestars P-Rock

Sportbiketrackgear.com has all of these VERY HIGH QUALITY leather jackets on closeout for under $300, some of which are only in the $200 range. Things to consider though with these jackets are: The 7-2 has no ventilation at all. No perforations, no vents. It is a strictly cool weather jacket. The SMK isn’t so much a jacket as it is the top half of a two-piece race suit. The Ice and One-O-One jackets are both tailored with more of a “relaxed fit” for comfort. The halo is probably the best when it comes to varying weather conditions. The Stage is a full perforated warm weather jacket. The Halo, Ice, One-O-One, and SMK have adequate venting/perforation for warm weather but not as much as the Stage, but will also perform better in cooler weather. The P-Rock is a hybrid leather/textile jacket.

    Joe Rocket Blaster 3.0
Joe Rocket Suzuki Vertical Leather Jacket
Joe Rocket Michael Jordan Matrix Leather Jacket
Joe Rocket Michael Jordan Team Jordan Leather Jacket
    Cortech Impulse II Leather Jacket
    Firstgear Scout II Leather Jacket
    Scorpion EXOwear All-In Leather Jacket

Newenough.com has all of the above named jackets on sale/closeout for roughly $250 or less, with some going down to about $100. The Blaster 3.0, Cortech Impulse II, and Scout II leather jackets will adapt best to varying temperatures. The Jordan jackets have venting as well but it is not all that good. The vertical has VERY poorly designed vents that are essentially useless. The Blaster 3.0 has zip-off panels to reveal mesh under the sleeves and down the sides. A friend of mine who has this jacket says it’s good enough for up to 85 degrees or so but wouldn’t use it for any more than that. The Scorpion jacket is a very heavy duty vintage-style leather jacket that is available in 2 colors: Black/silver or all black, and each color is available with patches or naked. As of right now they still have all sizes & colors in stock. It has a full sleeve liner and sufficient ventilation for up to 75-80 degree weather or so, but I wouldn’t wear it any hotter than that.

Shift Racing has redesigned a lot of their jackets this past year and Motorcyclecloseouts.com has many of their older ones still in stock and for sale for under $200. The best buy of the bunch is the Octane, which was their highest-end jacket at the time and is probably the best out of the entire selection at the site for warm weather.

The Icon Merc series of jackets which includes a leather jacket with an almost completely perforated torso (minus the chest which is solid) is being discontinued and Kneedraggers.com has them on closeout for $205.00. They’re great jackets if they fit you right but they have NO ADJUSTABILITY not even in the waist or cuff, so better hope they fit your body type okay. Aside from that they’re fantastic jackets.

And finally we have, on ebay, the Teknic Impulse leather jacket. It is a “freestyle cut” leather jacket (meaning straight cut, no taper in the waist) fully perforated leather jacket that looks cool and looks comfy. It’s one of the many models Teknic had to discontinue when they switched distributors. A texas-based dealership called Action Suzuki still has a large number of these jackets in stock in a variety of colors and sizes despite the fact that they were discontinued over a year ago now, and is selling all of them for $180.00 from their ebay store.

    Check ’em out!

Great offers. It’s a shame they’re sold out on my size.

Ok, scratch what I said earlier. At these prices, I absolutely WOULD buy a Shift product! $200 for the Octane?!
