Sadly last Monday was my last ride of the season. I took a cruise down KGB road, and stopped to enjoy the view of the Knik arm. I’m already looking forward to spring. I hope that next year’s riding season is warm and sunny; this year was kind of dreary….

It’s funny how for me, the riding season is really just getting started. I live in the Washington DC metro area, and for most of the summer (esp. this summer…record-breaking heat here), it’s simply too hot to ride in any sort of comfort (at least for the ATGATT types on this site). Even with mesh on, you poach after a little bit…it feels like riding through a sauna.

So for me, riding season usually goes fall through spring (we often don’t get much snow in the winter, so if the roads aren’t bad and it’s above 40 degrees, I’ll ride in Dec – Feb).

Your hubby needs to get you a windshield….. and possibly some ” crash bars” so tou can get the leather covers that deflect wind and wet off yor leg…… could extend your riding season.

My wife took our camera to work and left it in her desk for the weekend…so no ride pics…boo…

It rained on Sunday and started snowing Monday evening…now we have 5cm (2″) and counting…the temps are getting worse…damn…winter is here…

I took a pic of my bike looking out at the snow…not happenin….lol

It was cold when I took the pic…-15C (5F)…and I didn’t put on a coat to take the pics…sorry for the blurry one…

Didn’t know another Alaskan was in her lol. Of course I haven’t posted anything in awhile either. One of my favorites is riding down to Girdwood and grubbing at the Silver Tip. A trip to Hope is a great run too. Next year I want to ride down to Seward.
