I have been riding for about 2 years now (which as far as I am concerned is still a beginner). I have a sport bike (Suzuki SV650S) and I need to start transporting my laptop to certain places. I read the other topic (https://www.bestbeginnermotorcycles.com/forum/forum/3501/laptop-protection) where everyone is telling the rider to be more concerned with themselves. Yes I fully understand that is the case, but I still need to transport the laptop.
I would prefer to have a hard backpack style pack for transport, something the like the Axio Swift 2.0. I am wondering how that compares to the Dowco Fastrax Backpack or the Axio Tekno Hardpack for instance. There are probably 10-15 different cases that are available that are hard backpacks and comfortable. I have tried the Swift before and I know its comfortable on a long ride (about 4 hours).Does anyone have any thoughts on this or even what might be a better backpack? I’d really like to hear from experiences what people think. Thanks.

If you must use a backpack, just find a good water proof backpack and laptop sleeve. I don’t see why you would be concerned about your laptop surviving an accident on you back. Thats what insurance and backups are for.

The nice part about these is they always have a front trap that goes across the front of your body and help take some of the weight off your shoulders (which wears you down on a long ride)
Also i use the straps that would notmally be used to hold a skateboard to instead hold a little $5 bungie net. That way I can bungy the whole back to the passenger seat on my boke and not have to wear the back pack at all.
Works awesome, and best of all it was cheap. I think the bag was $25 at walmart and the bungy was $3-5 at big lots.

Therefore I have narrowed it down to 2 bags, the Axio Swift (which I have tried) and the BOBLBEE Megalopolis Aero Laptop Backpack. I already have an inCase padded cover for the laptop to try to mitigate some of the vibration issues. I don’t have saddle bags or a top bag for my SV650, but I have been considering it. Both bags have the chest straps, but sadly neither have a waist strap (which would also help alleviate some of the wear down from a long ride). I might just make my own waist strap since sewing is a relatively easy thing to do anyway.
Just wanted to update the thread in case anyone is in a similar situation. I’ll update it again once I decide which way I’m going to go. I’d still like to hear if anyone has any experience with hardbacks. Thanks. -
