Kawi 500 EX mirrors – help

I have a 2003 Kawi 500 ex – The bike is great with the exception of the mirrors – the mirrors seem to catch mostly my shoulders and it makes relying on them a little unnerving. I am not sure if they are the stock mirrors but I am assuming so based on some reviews that I have read that also had similar complaints…anyway, does anyone know of a good aftermarket mirror that I could use on this bike to improve my view?

    Thanks!

I had the exact same problem with my bike, i couldn’t see behind me at all. I got bar end mirrors and the problem is totally fixed. there are a whole bunch of company’s that make them ( i got mine from j&pcycles.com )and they look sweet too imo.

Thanks. In looking at J&P Cycles – it looks like they have 3″ Billet Bar End Mirrors and Chicane Bar End Mirrors. Which one do you have? Are they both good for increasing visibility?

mine are just standard oval black bar ends, they cost like $13 each. I’ve read that the billet ones have a nicer finish, but they all work the same way. rear visibility doesn’t get any better than with bar ends, they’re awesome!!

You can buy smaller mirrors that sit in the upper outside corners of your mirrors from basically any automotive section in most stores. It will extend your vision, but the distance in the added mirrors will be a little off. Still, better to see something you wouldn’t normally see.
