Ok so I just bought a new Kawasaki Ninja 250 a few days ago. She works and runs great, but I’ve noticed that the odometer seems to be racking miles unusually fast. The speedometer is in mph, but is it possible that the odometer could be in kilometers? I’ve done a fair bit of riding, but there’s no way I’ve put 400 miles on her in 4 days. Is there any way I can test this or should I just take her into the dealer? I’m in the US by the way, just to clarify that everything is usually in miles.

unless you bought a Canadian one….no it should be in miles also. If need be get a family member to drive with you in a car and figure a point A and B and determine how far off you are. You might just be surprised how many miles you did actually rack up. Kind of like time with having fun. It goes quick.

If it has a mechanical odometer, you do know that the right-most number is tenths of a mile… Yes?

No, not dumb, you’ve just learned something you didn’t know, that’s all.

Congrats on the new bike and don’t be shy to ask more questions, That’s why this forum exists.
