Hi everyone,
I am a male 29yr old first time rider and wished I got into riding sooner. I just passed my NY permit test and I will be registering myself for the safety course very soon so I can start riding and take advantage of the weather. After visiting several bike shops, I am set on getting the ’08 / ’09 Kawasaki 250R which definitely looks so much better in person.
This is an awesome resourceful site and am looking forward to reading more articles and learning all I can about riding safely.

I’m in central NJ and if i felt like going to the boondocks (1-2 hr drive) I could be taking the course as early as June. Sadly I really don’t feel like waking up that early when they’re going to be 8+ hr days. Also, I picked the longest running and best reviewed MSF in NJ that I could find. It just happened to be right next door to me.(about 3 mi away).

May 15, 2009 at 5:45 pm #18575nok610ParticipantHere in NY, the permit expires 1 year after the exam date. If you got you’re permit, it would state the expiration date on the card itself.
May 15, 2009 at 5:46 pm #18576nok610ParticipantAwesome, thanks! Good luck to you too.
May 15, 2009 at 11:40 pm #18585MunchParticipantNothing like a good ol person to person conversation to clear it up… Though you may have to sit through a 25 minute recording full of options you care nothing for to get to that person….
May 15, 2009 at 11:47 pm #18587Sed8MeParticipantI wish it was only 25 minutes… I forgot that I was on hold… listening to music…
May 16, 2009 at 6:39 pm #18610SantaCruzRiderParticipantThen you have to renew it by retaking the written test — so no worries.
