Hi folks. Winter is a bummer. Too much time on my hands at the end of December, so I went shopping. I wanted something that was light-ish, could carry luggage, hold a helmet, and be good for an overnight. I also wanted ABS. Didn’t get everything I wanted, but did get a good deal on a new 2008 Ducati Multistrada 1100S. It is sitting in storage until spring. I will probably get rid of the Nighthawk in the Spring (too many bikes – you did warn me this was addicting). We’ll see about the 696, may use it to practice skills, take more MSF courses, or try a (slow) trackday.

Really like the upright seating, and the handling. It is civilized for what it is, but I wouldn’t have wanted it before I had 3000 miles under my belt (and maybe that wasn’t enough). It is comfortable for me, and will do until I get good enough to handle a heavier sport/touring or adventure bike, or something comes along that I like and has ABS. Almost went for the Triumph Tiger (a little too tall, suspension just OK or a Triumph Spring ST with ABS). Honda VFR a little cramped. I still don’t like any BMW dealer near enough to use.

FYI, the new “Daytona” really looks good, as does the new Street Triple R. Megaspaz, I can see why you went for the 848. Sometimes I think that the Sport Bikes are more comfortable than those that lean you over only a little.

Has anyone tested the CBR600 with Honda’s new ABS? Wonder how that works. Anyway, hope you all have been doing well.

    Spring, come soon!
