should i buy a bike if the owner is saying the second gear is going out its a 2001 yzf 600 for 2250

I also suspect some hard riding ( wheelies, burnouts, etc. ) that might explain why 2nd gear is going out. If it has been rode hard and put up wet, I would avoid it altogether. My opinion, your choice. Ride safe and God bless. Jon D.

February 4, 2009 at 11:16 pm #16282Jon D.ParticipantThat is not a bad quote, I would have same shop look bike over to see if any other repairs are in order, prior to purchase. If you are still hooked on this bike it might help you haggle down to offset repair bill. Ride safe and God bless. Jon D.

If it’s after to 0, that’s a bad deal. If it’s anyplace else, not so bad. If 2nd gear is going I wouldn’t expect any part of the transmission to be in good shape, and honestly most of the drive train is going to be dicey. But if you don’t mind doing the work yourself, $225 wouldn’t be a bad price for what is essentially a parts bike.
