I heard a very interesting radio discussion on one of my favorite radio programs yesterday, “Forum” with Michael Krazny on KQED. The discussion was on the current increasing ridership in motorcyclists and issues related to motorcycling. I thought the discussion covered a lot of ground and you really get a sense of the hostility some drivers have for motorcyclists by listening to some of the call-ins. If you’re interested in listening to it on the web or downloading the podcast, it’s located here:

We all need to be reminded periodically that it’s dangerous out there and that we need to ride responsibly.
I know I’ll ride home tonight more carefully and at a lower speed than I did last night due to listening to this program.

They’re the ones that make johnny cager think all motorcyclists are like that and give us all a black eye. Basically, I ride extra paranoid because joe schmoe squid might’ve done something stoopid and put a big ol’ road rage bullseye on my back.

around, I want it caught and shot now…August 7, 2008 at 3:40 am #10013BuddParticipantI have commuted in the bay area for 1,000 years and I hate motorcycles because they get where they are going faster than I do. The are smaller and cause less congestion. A couple of times, when I was talking on my cell phone, I almost hit a couple of them and they had the audacity to be upset with me. Also 1 motorcycle pollutes as much as 22 cars.
