This isn’t something I had to do in the training, but I have on the road; sometimes successfully…sometimes I have to make a couple of tries. Of course….I think if I had some cheesecake (mmmmmm, cheesecake) to fix my eyes on, I would probably make it every time.

Your class didn’t have “the box”? That’s just two back to back U-turns.

Good video. I find it also helps to counterweight on the outside peg…really sharpens things up. Just shift your bodyweight to the outside foot peg as you turn.

We did the sharp 90 in the box, but not a u-turn. There were a lot of time that we were turning around, but I’m not sure if we ever really did it in that small of a space. But like I said, I can do it, just not every time. I need to find a good parking lot to practice in….

If it was MSF you did “The Box”:

I took the Team Oregon training. Honestly, I’m starting to have trouble remembering what we did do now, but I know we did not do the box, or any variation. We did do a lot of turns, did swerves, sharp 90, weave and offset weave, braking in a turn, umm….and a few other exercises. I’m planning on going back for the IRT (the intermediate course) either this fall, or next spring.
