I got slimed tonight! I’m sooo a real biker now!
Picture this:
Lots of water on the road. You’re at an intersection. Construction on buildings is going on, so the water is muddy. The light turns green. You’re first in line, so you go steady, making sure not to lose control in the water. The Mercedes SUV in the lane immediately to your left, driven by a completely oblivious black lady, just barrels through, coating your leather coat and soaking the left side of your body. Thank goodness your visor is mostly down. You come up to the next light, look over at the open window of the offending SUV and you say, “Thanks! That was refreshing!”True story. I’m a real biker now, after only one week. I don’t have to fall, this counts.
At least it wasn’t stinky water, and I was dry by the time I got home, but as the sun was down – brrrrrrr it was cold!September 27, 2008 at 4:17 am #12851MunchParticipantVery Well handled.

If there’s anything more important than my ego
around, I want it caught and shot now…September 27, 2008 at 10:31 pm #12867jayman2078ParticipantI still have my car and since I live in Oklahoma, we have real winters here. I didn’t get a car with heated seats not to use’m, and the bike needs some work, so when rain and cold weather starts hitting, into the car I go! If it rains in the spring and summer, and I know about it ahead of time, I’ll chicken out and drive my car. At least until I get a bike that’s a bit newer and fancier.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting!

So far last time I got wet was before I had them…. have needed them bunches since then.
