So I’m looking at getting the Hyosung 250 cruiser (Aquila) and im wondering if anyone who has ridden one knows if its powerful enough for doubling up with me, 6’1″ 190lbs (no gear) and someone else. just wondering if it’ll keep up to 60MPH (100KMH) or more and if it’ll have enough low end power to get me up to speed fairly quick. Looking for my first bike, I like the price and looks of the hyosung cruisers, just wondering if the 250 is enough or if i have to go to the 650. I’ve been around and riding passenger on bikes all my life so if i have to get the 650 it’s not a problem im very confident in my ability on both, just wondering if the 250 will be powerful enough, thanks and i know it’s wordy but thanks.

What kind of bikes have you had before? What kind of terrain will you be riding on? I find it a little strange that you said you were experienced with carrying passengers on a bike, yet not know if a 250cc would have enough power.

For an experienced rider wanting a cruiser, I’d say go with a 650, at least, even without a passenger. There are a lot of people who think a 650 cruiser is too small to carry a passenger comfortably over long distance.

I use the 80/20 rule. Pick the bike for what you plan to use it for 80% of the time. If you use plan on carrying a passenger 80% of the time…I’d go with a larger bike. If not, then a 250 is fine, if a 250 is fine FOR YOU 80% of the time. A 250 will carry two folks, and probably can go do 60mph-remember at that speed, it’s less about weight than it is wind resistence. It WILL struggle though…
