Alot of new riders, or those interested in getting into riding, wonder just what “counter-steering” is because the term is new to them, but the practice may not be. Basically if you’ve ridden a bicycle before and gone faster than say 15mph you have already done counter-steering and not even known it. Mainly because it was simply refered to as a “turn”. Now I don’t want to over-simplify this, because obviously a 350lb+ motorcycle isn’t the huffy you had as a kid. But the principle is the same and when you get past the anxious feeling most have with moving around such a heavy thing for the first time have, you’ll be enjoying the twisties with the rest of the bikers.
