Boy, I love sharing my financial details with the internet
Anyhoo, our financing to buy our bikes is a sure thing but will take a couple of weeks, just because of the nature of it. I sent the bike shop an email (they’re closed today) explaining the situation to them and offering to pony up more deposit money if that makes them comfortable waiting (I only put $200 down, so I think it’s fair if they ask for more).
Do you think they’ll give me the gears about having to hang onto the bike that long for me? I really like this bike, I don’t want to lose it because my bank is painful.

what kind of deal did you make with them? was it $200 down to hold it for the day, the week, the month? Still, I would imagine most businesses would be reasonable with the situation after you explain it to them. And if you’re offering more money to hold it, then I don’t see a reason why they wouldn’t hold onto it for you. But it’s just something you’ll have to talk to them about.

I said I would be taking it home sometime this week. I think if I offer them more money it hopefully shouldn’t be an issue, but I hate being one of ‘those’ customers.

i’d hold it 4 u, but i’m not a bike salesman either…i h8 the feeling of something being so close but just out of reach…drives me nuts! i hope they hold it 4 u tho.

He called and left a message today and was very, very nice and basically said it’s my bike, take as long as I need. yay!
