Mini bikes and dirt bikes as a child and adolescent, mostly on a KM100. Also did lots of 4 wheeler riding. I am now 30 (well 31 on Sunday). Took the MSF in June and got a Ninja 250 one week after. Have been riding a lot since. I have about 4k miles of riding under my belt so far. I commute on it daily on the interstate. Most of my friends that have motorcycles have had theirs about the same amount of time (or at least have been riding them about the same amount).

I thought you might like that bike. So powerful, and yet so incredibly comfortable. Sigh. Maybe in a few years. I doubt I’ll be there for asome time-no muscle memory-not many muscles either. Alas for age. I wish you luck in your racing career.

Remember, life is like a roll of toilet paper. The farther along you get, the faster it spins. ;-) OT, but I really like the image.

I’m still on the edge between the virago and the hyosung, but if I end up picking up the GV250, it’ll be because of you

I’m hoping to get my motorcycle next year after I move to SF. in the meantime I’ll be reading up on everything I can about all things motorcycle. I’m hoping to be able to take a maintinence class or something, save some cash on oilchanges and do minor repairs myself. the more I get into the idea of riding a motorcycle, the more I’m interested in the whole thing. I honestly started looking as a way to save gas, and now I’ve bought into the whole deal hook line and sinker…it’s like crack! but only slightly more expensive ;)

I meant to tell you that I misread the ‘cruiser magazine’ article. It said it would “…reach 60 mph…”, not “…60 mpg….” Big difference. However, I still disagree with anything less than 50 mpg on the city streets. And, if you do decide to purchase the GV250, research the dealer as much as you can. There are quite a few Hyosung dealers here in S California. I haven’t had any problems thus far, so I’m only saying this because this seems like the company’s Achilles heel. Good luck in whatever you choose. Virago or GV. Just be safe out there.

um… doubtful on the racing career, too old, too many things to practice and not enough time or $$$ for excessive track days. :-/

i’m doing about 40-50 bucks filling up a week… the price for taking the interesting route to work instead of the direct route and doing rides on the weekends… so :-P
