anyone know anything about the shadow VLX? I went on a dealership tour looking to get into a 250, but they’re all a tad too small. My fiance kinda looked at me on the 250’s and said I looked a tad rediculous. To be honest I felt the part a bit too, my knees on each coming way up over the tanks and being able to stand up and literally bounce it between my knees.
I really liked the feel from the seat of the VLX, not too small but still light enough I could easily support it. I was just wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with it at all.

Very quiet, very smooth. Pulls cleanly and nicely. Because of the tall gearing it never surprises you. But it _is_ faster than a 250.
If a 250 cruiser doesn’t fit you, then I think it is a great bike.July 6, 2008 at 2:37 am #8411phoinixpyreParticipantYeah I took my written test and I “tried on” a couple 250’s to celebrate. They felt like toys when I was on them lol.
The speed thing was a secondary concern. I want something I could commute to work on, and while I don’t generally drive too fast it’s a bit comforting to know that there’s a little more to squeeze out in a sticky situation. Even for a “drop back” kinda driver like I am there’s always those moments where you just need to pull around someone who looks like they’re about to do something stupid.
Thanks for the reply :o) Can’t wait the first open safety course I could register for actually starts on my birthday (aug 4th) not a bad way to ring in 26 eh?

For the first year or so of riding, I didn’t want a more powerful bike because I don’t know how to handle it yet. I’m very happy with it so far.
