So this is sweet…a hybrid sports/touring with automatic transmissions. Some of the bikes also have ABS too.
October 2, 2008 at 5:26 pm #13180briderdtParticipant…for 2008 has selectable manual/automatic.
But those Honda’s with shaft drive… Nice for maintenance.
October 2, 2008 at 5:27 pm #13181MattNParticipantInteresting.
Honda’s bike site needs to come into the 21st century though. only 2 pics… I want to see a 360 view on that one..
October 2, 2008 at 7:18 pm #13191smokeizfireParticipantThat thing looks like it’s about to take off……into space.

Article, 14,999 for a 680cc bike. I have to really want an automatic for that $$
October 2, 2008 at 9:10 pm #13203MattNParticipantbut I will admit I love the look.
October 3, 2008 at 4:00 am #13222NoobacycleParticipantThe bike looks nice, but having a bike with an automatic transmission is an abomination to all motorcycling. If I wanted something on two wheels with an auto, I’d get a scooter. I enjoy the shifting part of riding immensely.
What Honda really needs to do is update the rebel and nighthawk a bit and bring them into the 21st century. Also, having a Ninja 250 competitor wouldn’t hurt.
October 3, 2008 at 4:11 am #13223megaspazParticipantto be perfectly honest, that automatic bike looks like poo. it just looks so out of proportion with that big baskin shark head… just my opinion. For automatic capable bikes, the aprilia mana looks so much better.

around, I want it caught and shot now…October 3, 2008 at 7:03 am #13227AnonymousGuestI agree. Automatic Motorcycles are a “no-no”. Motorcycling is one of the LAST forms of transportation where YOU are in complete control. I only drive manual trans cars. I actually drive a car with manual windows, seats, steering, AND trans. Yes, it’s at least 10 yrs old. These cars can NOT be found in NEW form. Shame. Motocycling is one of the FEW vehicles you can completely control (now a days…a novel idea!). Master it and embrace it for it is your LAST form of transportative freedom! People who are too lazy to learn “clutch” are too lazy lazy to be on the road (as motorcycling is all about YOU in control and if you are not aware/ in control of your surroundings/ you can, and should be, DEAD). IF you ever encounter anyone who desires an “auto trans” motorcycle…tell them you saw a nice, boring, automatic trans, convertible CAR a few miles back. Same goes for ABS. The only modern tech a bike benifits from is fuel injection….any thing else is encroachment on rider input.
October 3, 2008 at 1:36 pm #13234AndrewParticipantThe Honda looks like a scooter.
October 3, 2008 at 2:32 pm #13236ranetteParticipantMaybe I have an Italian thing, but if I had been interested in buying an automatic, which I absolutely was not, this would have been the bike.
http://www.apriliausa.com/modelli/road/modello.asp?id=124Looks like a bargain compared to the Honda.
October 3, 2008 at 3:46 pm #13245bob250ParticipantLooks like someone at Honda beat the front end of an otherwise good looking bike with the ugly stick. I wonder what demographic they are going to market that thing to. The Aprila looks nice but the automatic tranny I don’t know. I mean, how many Hondamatics are still on the road?
October 3, 2008 at 8:52 pm #13263briderdtParticipantSweet bike. I really think the set-up of helmet storage in front and tank under the seat makes a TON of sense. All it needs is a partial fairing… Just my preference (I think — not having RIDDEN anything yet, I’m shouting out my ignorance for the world to hear). I also sat on the Shiver. Very nice as well.
October 3, 2008 at 11:23 pm #13253eonParticipantThis thing is not for me but I appreciate companies that try something new. It’s always good to have choice.
