Hi there I’m new to the forums and new to motorcycling. My dad has gotten me into motorcycles and has been teaching me to ride every now and then but recently I decided to get serious about it and start shopping around for a bike of my own. I’m 5’6 and 120lbs and I know I should start on like a 250 or 500cc bike but I’m curious is there much of a difference in power and such between the two? Also is there any bikes I should definitely look into, I’m mostly looking to get a sportbike or a standard bike. Anyways thanks for your help and I look forward to getting my start in motorcycling.

It seems to me to go from 65 to 80 faster than nearly any car I have driven. It is slow compared to the supersport bikes are even good sport cars but will hold its own.
Whats more important is that it is a fun bike. It is also light and easy to learn on.
I think so many people recommend the Ninja 250R for a first bike because it offers a good bike to learn on, while still providing freeway capable performance, all at a very affordable price.Other good sport bikes to start with are the GS500F and Ninja 500R. They are more powerful but also heavier and usually more expensive.
