I am looking to buy my first motorcycle. I have heard that the suzuki gs500 are good beginner bikes so ive been looking for one. I found a 2006 with only 1300 miles on it. He is asking $3500 dollars with a matching helmet. Is this a good deal. I know nothing about bikes. Thanks.

what’s the helmet? tell him to keep his helmet and knock the price of the helmet off the bike instead. oh and Hi!

is it not worth that much? i dont know anything about bikes so could you tell me what a fair price would be. i really appreciate the advice.

what’s the make and model of the helmet? can’t tell you anything about price otherwise… basically, unless the helmet he’s selling you is in an unopened manufacturer’s box, I wouldn’t trust it. I wouldn’t care if it looks pristine either, since the only way to tell if the integrity hasn’t been compromised is to send the helmet back to the manufacturer and have them do their x-rays on it.

what should i pay if i dont want the helmet just the bike. i can buy a helmet later. thanks for helping me out

Check out craigslist for your area, do a search for GS500 and you should find a few listed. Looks to me from the search I did that the 2005-2007 GS500 run between $3000 and $4000 used so $3500 is not a bad price. You could always try to talk him down a couple hundred.

Let us know how your purchase and riding goes. I have a GS500 myself, and I enjoy it, but I’d still recommend you looking and sitting on more bikes. And start getting your gear too!
