I used to post on a similar site to this, which I believe went down years ago. That was when I bought my first bike, which was a heavily used 1976 Honda CB500T (t is for twin!).
Being in Colorado, and with no car at the time, I road that to and from work through basically any weather, except when the roads were icy. Heavy rains were okay though. That thing got me upwards of 50 mpg. Everything about it was great, except the gear shift. That thing wore out way too easily, and would make me visit the shop too much. Other than that, it could hit good highway speeds, it was quick off the line (probably couldn’t pop a wheelie though, not that I’d want to), and people could tell it was an old bike, so it got lots of looks on the road.
That’s me. I’ll be posting in General about the help I need deciding on a new bike for long frequent commutes.
