Hi! I am a newby and I would like to buy a motorcycle. I have the opportunity to buy a 2006 Brute SunL. Says it is “powered by a 200 c.c. four stroke motor”. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

I really like to ride behind my husband on his Yamaha, but it really is a little big for me to handle. But now I am hooked on biking!! I would like to drive on my own, but I need something smaller. I have taken the motorcycle safety course and I now have my license.

I am 45 years old and recently went through a hip replacement. I have healed EXTREMELY well, no pain or anything like that, I have excellent strength now in my legs whereas before, I had a lot of pain in my hip and legs.

Again, I have the riding bug and I am anxious to have my own!!

    Thanks

Just wanted to say hi and that it’s awesome you are hooked on biking! Uh, is this Brute thing a Canadian maker or something? I couldn’t really pull anything up on it and I’ve never heard of it and I’m blocked from a lot of stuff because I am at work. I’m new at biking myself though. Someone on here will probably know.

Hi! Thank you for responding. I am also at work, so I can only check on this periodically. I do not have internet at home due to where I live (Country living YOU GOTTA LOVE IT!!!!) I have also tried to pull up some info on this and the closest thing I can come up with is that it is an Asian made bike? Oh well. I really would like to have something like what you are on in your picture. But funds being what they are right now, I have to look for a relatively inexpensive motorcycle. I will keep checking this today (friday). Thanks again for you response and it is nice to meet you!! Safe Biking and cool winds!!

Hello! Glad to hear you’re feelin’ better. I’ve always been a bit curious about folks who have had their hips replaced or knees worked on how they do riding bikes and such.

As for the Brute, just be careful of some of the Chinese bikes. :) I don’t recall seeing or reading about that brand in “What Bike?” (a UK magazine) thus cannot give a comment or more info than what you might have found when Googlin’.

    Be safe!

I think SunL is a Chinese company that started making cheap gocarts and then moved into making cheap kids ATVs. The Brute is their foray into motorcycles.

You might check out the following site for more info: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/pieces-of-crap-c14603.html . As you can guess by the title, posters on that site are not happy customers.

Personally, I’d rather buy a used, thrashed bike than something in this toy category.

I have done a little research on the SunL bike and I believe that the bike is Chinese made. I have looked at reviews on the bike and most of the reviews have been deleted which cannot be good. My suggestion is to keep doing research on your new bike. Good Luck

I was on vacation for awhile. I see that SUNL is Chinese. Interesting. I was also looking for a cheap bike for my first bike. Mine is a LS650 SAVAGE – Suzuki. You can pick up a used one for under $3000.00 which is pretty good, not sure how much you are looking to spend. Mine is a 2002, I bought it with 700 miles on it and I paid $3200.00 but I think I overpaid by a few hundred. It’s been a great first bike, I’m really happy with it. I will probably ride it for a year or two more and then trade in for something else.

Good luck looking for something! Let us know what you end up with!
