Hello & Size Qs

Hello all, first off I’m thrilled to find so much information for beginner/prospective bikers online. This is really helpful. I’m in the central FL area and I must have had a die-off of brain cells to now want a motorcycle (the drivers here make sure to take their daily recommended dose of stupid), so I’m doing a little poking around. :)

I am 5’4″ between 5’5″ and weigh around 110-115, I consider myself a stronger than average female (so I’ve been told, anyway) but there’s no hiding that I am quite small. I feel very at home on a full size men’s Giant mountain bike but on a motorcycle… do they make a good trainer, preferably in the sport style, that would be fun and economical (gas and purchase-wise)? I’m looking in the 125-250cc range but even then I know most bikes are designed for guys hovering around 6′. Any suggestions? It goes without saying that if I do decide to purchase a bike, I will get the best gear possible and actually wear it; it never ceases to amaze me seeing beautiful, solid helmets hanging out on the bike while the rider is cruising full tilt and unprotected. Well, at least the bike will be safe, right?

I found that. Sort of answers my question, I guess! I really like that Ninja 250 and am glad to see it works for smaller people. Any comments are still much appreciated. :)

I’m 5’4 and 130 lbs and I have the old Ninja. I can’t quite flat foot the bike but I can get one foot flat and the other tip-toed. That’s plenty of control for me. Hardest thing is parking the bike in the garage as I have to make a tight 3 point turn.
