A little background about me, I’m 24 years old 6′ 4″ 250lbs living in Denver and everything i know about motorcycles has came from “research” I’ve done in the last 6 weeks. I would like to buy a bike for Monday-Friday commuting to and from work about 50-75 miles a week. I’m looking for something light and simple with great MPG that i can more or less sit upright on comfortably(I’m tall and heavy), like a standard or naked bike. I don’t really care too much about speed or looking cool just something fun and practical. The Buell Blast is what I’m leaning towards for its sitting position and MPG’s but I’m also looking at other 500-650cc naked and standard bikes. I’ll be taking the MSF BRC within the next month and will hopefully buy a bike shortly afterwards. Would love to hear any suggestions and advice you may have. Thanks

I’d say you are looking at getting a V-Star or even a Sporty. Talk to Elwood, he’s got no life and is ALWAYS on here But do it in General.
Oh, and how do you like Denver…I’m looking at moving up there (from Phx) within a few years!

Funny you say that because I had already posted this in the general section but thought it might be rude not to introduce myself lol. And Elwood was the first to respond to my post in the general section lol. Denver is awesome. I love it. I grew up in Albuquerque and I like it just much if not more. There’s tons of great things to do and beautiful things to see all year round and very close. I cant wait to actually get a motorcycle and take it on some of the mountain roads and back ways. Moving from Phoenix will for sure get a you change in climate but its not at all that bad. It snow a bit in the winter but everyone works through it (much to my surprise, there is rarely a “snow day”).

Sounds like vacation right? Well, after 24 years of it, I’m ready to move on…grass is always greener on the other side (of the state line)
