ParticipantHello – My name is Brian and I’m new to the site and new to riding. I’ve ridden a scooter for several years back and forth to work and I rode dirt bikes when I was younger, but was ready to move on. I had been thinking about riding for a year or so when my wife said out of the blue “I want to ride too”. That threw me off guard, however I was excited to have her to ride with. Taking the advice of many posts on this column, we bought a 2002 Ninja and have been learning on this bike. We take the MSF course in June and are very excited to ride. Great advice on the 250 Ninja, its a great little bike. I think it may become the permanent bike for my wife and I haven’t ruled it out for me either. If nothing else it is a great safe bike to learn on. Thanks for a great website, I’ve learned a lot the past few months.

ParticipantHello. Congrats on getting a bike both you and your wife can learn and have fun with. Good luck with the MSF… you should have a ton of fun in that class.

ParticipantWonderful little bike. I’m loving mine despite being 6’2″ and a little cramped on the small machine. It definitely does not lack in power for most sane riding.

ParticipantYou’re right there. I’m very surprised how much get up that 250 has, especially in the upper RPM ranges…..plus it is nice and light and easy to learn on…..

ParticipantHey thanks for the message. What kind of bike do you have? Is that you in your profile picture? Looks pretty nice

ParticipantMegaspaz uses a 2nd generation Suzuki SV650S as his track bike. I believes he also owns a Ducati 848 that he uses as his street bike, but don’t quote me on that.
