Wondering if anyone out there owns or has used an HCI modular helmet (model 80 or similar). How do they compare with more expensive brands?

That said, I don’t think that they’ll offer the same protection as a rigid full-face in a crash (not based on stats, just my gut feeling).
Right now, I personally don’t feel that the extra functionality is worth, what I perceive is, the added risk.

In my opinion, sunglasses are less ideal because they tend to shake… maybe if you were wearing aviators you wouldn’t notice, though…
although annoying, the gold during the day seems to give me better visibility than sunglasses and it also protects my pasty white skin from the sun! and it looks badass… can’t forget that

Good quality or no? I’ve seen them online priced significantly lower than HJC helmets.

my wife has one a hjc and i have worn it in a pinch (its A bit small) and it seams reasonable
the latch is pretty strong and in order for it to come undone you’d have to hit some thing pretty hard and you’d probably snap your neck before that happened so i reckon they are just as safe as a full faceabout your hci if it cheaper than a hjc then its really cheap
Ihad HJC for 3years but buy the end of the 1st year the padding was all soggy and not holding my head firmly anymore. so some thing cheaper 6 months ?
also you should allways try a helmet on before you buy make sure it fits snugly touches every wear and not to tight anywhere
helmets are not like other things once you buy one its yours you cant take it back!
how little is your head worth
