So, some of you who have slavishly been reading my posts know that I have been waiting for results from a professional certification exam to come back before I bought a bike. Well, the waiting has not been in vain.
I PASSED!!! WHOO-HOO!!!
(Insert mental image of person who has no concept of rhythm attempting to do a jig)
So, now I am at that point of buying a bike. I’m watching Craig’s list to see if something cheap comes up, otherwise I’m going to wait until Spring (boo-hiss). There isn’t enough left of summer for me to justify dropping good money on something that is going to get used for three weeks and then sit for five months…
But I PASSED!!! My long nightmare has ended!

I think in WA we have a year round riding climate so I would not wait. I bought my bike at this time last year.
August 19, 2009 at 11:40 pm #21798owlieParticipantThat was someone else (she was originally from Alaksa, but I haven’t seen her here in a few weeks).
I’m in Alaska. The riding season will probably go on until mid-october or so, but after the first snow (which could happen anytime after Labor Day), I would hesitate to ride, especially as a new rider. Between now and then, the weather will be unpredicatably rainy (sort of Seattle-ish with less fog).
