Just added a 2000 Suzuki Bandit to my stable. I started with a Buell Blast in October 2008, moved on to a Suzuki C50 in March of 2009, and now this is what turns me on when I turn it on:

After nearly 14,000 miles on the 5-speed cruiser, this 6-speed 600 is taking some getting used to. But everyday I am learning…and it is so much fun!

PS How do I resize the image so it doen’t bleed over into the links on the right-hand side?

Wow, quite a change in style there. So you have two bikes now? Or do you still have the Blast as well? Good looking bike.

To change the size after the “img” tag specify the width you want. I find 660 is a perfect fit. So it should read something like “img width=660 src=…..” . Hope that helps. If not lemme know.

Thanks, eon. No longer own the Blast, but I do have two rides now. Plan to spend this summer trying to decide which to keep.

I have had 3 Bandits in my garage, first one was a 2001 Bandit 600, I bought it in the late fall/winter to try it out since it was so cheap, $1400 w/14500 mi. on the odometer.

Rock solid engine, easy maintenance, decent power but for the weight it might as well be a 1200cc.. that’s why I sold it it and bought a 2003 Bandit 1200 from a salvage yard, it had a clean title, needed turn signals/brake/clutch lever and such, I pieced it back together and rode it for over 5000 mi. and sold it for a good profit. the Bandit 1200 engine has much more lower torque and a good kick once it’s reved up, nearly 100hp for only a few pounds more than the Bandit 600.

My current Bandit is a 2001 Bandit 1200, bought it for $2000 last Oct, w/95xx mi., stage 1 jet kit, slip-on exhaust, timing advance and new tires all installed. I had to replace a oil-cooler line myself, but that was a 1/2 hr job when I change the oil in the winter.

01-05 Bandits are very cheap to buy/own, very easy to maintain, and very little maintenance is needed.

I do see what you mean about wanting more lower end torque with the 600. It seems that I start slowly from stops at lights. Thanks for posting your pics; those bikes look great.

There’s a board with nails sticking out of it…it’s right under the 600!!

    WOW!!! Tradegy avoided I hope…

BTW, Bandits are heavy enough bike if you use sidestand alone, it could sink into the hot pavement.. they are somewhat of a pain to get on centerstand, just make sure you put some good weight onto the foor lever of the centerstand for leverage.

Check out http://www.maximum-suzuki.com for weath of Bandit knowledge.
