Hello everyone! I have decided to create an account here since BBM seems to be a community of safety-minded people who want to help get others riding without getting them killed in the process. I am currently looking at purchasing my first bike but am still undecided about which bike it’ll be – I’m caught between the Buell Blast and the Ninja 250. Do any of you have any experience with the Blast?
Again, thanks all for providing this resource of knowledge so the ignorant types can learn from others mistakes!

personally, I don’t have any experience with either, but if you’re taking the MSF (and you really should be) there’s a decent possibility they’ll have one or both there, I’d reccomend taking the course before you buy and trying out a couple different ones.
that being said, there’s very very few here who have anything bad to say whatsoever about the ninja.

The reviews on the Buell Blast say it’s pretty crappy, and that because of the fact that it rides more like a scooter than a motorcycle it doesn’t really teach you the things you need to know about bikes. Ninja 250 is an excellent bike but it’s important to bear in mind that unless you’re vertically challenged individual that you don’t need to go down to a 250 to start. 500s and some 650s on the market will do you just fine. In fact, the Kawasaki Ninja 500R and Suzuki GS500F are regarded as the best beginner motorcycles on the market today.
