ParticipantHey guys, I found your site after I was searching on some beginner riding tips to help me start off!
I’m only just getting into bikes after I saw how much fun and how the running cost was dramaticly lower from cars. I’m 18 and I live in Australia. This site has really helped me seal the deal on my bike choice after I was debating between a CBR125R and a 250cc bike. I’ve decided to go with the Ninja 250R after reading one of the guides on the website. I’m buying brand new so that I know I’m not getting an aluminium frame full of problems, I chose buying new over used because of my lack of knowledge of bikes and I know I’d have a higher chance of being sold something dodgy. Any tips and pointers would be taken on board and would be very appreciated!!
Peace, Daniel.

ParticipantTip of the day… Don’t crash… it sucks…
Seriously, since you’re buying new… If you’ve never ridden a bike before or ridden a bike with lots of vehicle/pedestrian traffic, get someone to either tow it for you or an experienced rider to ride it to your destination. A significant amount of crashes around here happen not too far away from the dealership.
Welcome to the forums…

ParticipantYeah I have somebody that was a rider back a while ago, he was going to come with me to check out some bikes I was going to purchase second hand. If he’s unavailable I always have mum to ride it home for me! Down here we have to pass a practical and a computer test before we’re allowed to ride on public streets, so I won’t be getting on a bike on a busy road without knowing the basics and a bit more.
