Try the Febreze spray for the inside of your helmet, armor and boots- it eliminates odors and prevents them from coming back later, rather than just masking odors.

    From Wikipedia:

The product’s active ingredient is beta-cyclodextrin, a naturally occurring molecule with a “doughnut-like” molecular shape. The manufacturer claims that these molecules bind hydrocarbonic compounds within the donut shape, thus retaining malodorous molecules so that they are no longer detected as a scent.

Probably not a bad idea to spray at the end of the season, so the helmet and the rest of the gear is fresh for the next season…

    Good call.

I have found the Febreze spray works well to prevent future odors, and it is a lot easier than hand washing later with soap and water. It seems to prevent bacteria from growing by chemically changing the oils in your sweat.
