Anyone familar with Forcefield armor? Their pants and shirt look like a winner. CE level 2 for the win.

I’m not familiar with their shirt and pants, but I do have a full length back protector that was created by them. Actually, mine was sold under the Halvarssons brand, which my boss brought for me from Sweden, and it is CE level 2 certified. It is comfortable and somewhat breathable. It is also a soft protector vs. the ones that are made from hard plastic, so it conforms to the shape of my back and fits quite comfortably under my jacket. Once I put it on, it all but disappears. Seems like their items are high quality, and they’ve received some good press. I paid nearly US $147 for it, so the price seems fair. Hope my information helps you.

The gear probably would be for the lengthy ‘saturday’ riding and long distance highway riding since I’m on a full license now – no more restrictions.

To work or down the street (35 mph max) will probably just be Shift mesh jacket and textile pants. I might wear the undergear depending on how it goes.

About the ScorpionEXO textile pants: those things bake me like an freekin’ oven. Is it just those pants or are all textile pants like that? Seriously the insides are full of sweat when I take them off but the mesh jacket never gets damp.

I have the Tourmaster Flex pants and they have been very ‘flexible’. I’ve wore them in the winter and I’ve worn them in 90′ heat. Plus on my scoot I don’t get much wind at all and I have been fine with them stripped down to the mesh level.

I also just bought the latest incarnation of the T-Pro Forcefield back protector. Been wearing it for a few days now and I love it. Very comfy. I was going to write a full length review on it but those damn webbikeworld guys beat me to it. Review here

Worth mentioning that this version reduces a 50Kn force to less than 4 (hence the name). CE Level 2 only requires less than 9 so this is Level 2 and then some. Apparently <4Kn is a requirement for horseback protectors (who knew riding horses was more dangerous than bikes?) but this is the first motorcycle protector to achieve that.

doesn’t have a sense of humor. A horse does. And sometimes their idea of a good joke is a high speed gallop under low branches, which will see you dismounting in a very rapid and unplanned way.

I don’t ride horses, but I know enough people who do that I know better than to completely trust them. Nice animals, just not trustworthy.

When I press the start button and nothing happens I sometimes think my bike does have a sense of humor. Getting me back for calling it fugly (although more often than I not I notice I have bumped the kill switch by mistake, doh!!)

What happened to Christopher Reeve is my worst nightmare. I guess that was a head injury and not a back injury though? Would have to go look that up. But I thought it ironic that mothers everywhere worry about their sons buying motorcycles while sending their daughters off to horse lessons.
