ParticipantI’m lucky to have friends in influencial places! A buddy of mine has memberships at two of the local tracks, and I twisted his arm to get off his ass and take me to Motorsports Ranch south of Ft. Worth. We loaded up the bikes and headed off in order to take advantage of the afternoon sessions.
It was around 75 degrees today, but the wind was strong and the track never did heat up well. Even with tire warmers, it’s tough to keep the tires warm…you just can’t run a brisk enough pace. Still, it felt GREAT to get on the track after a looooong lay off. The R6 ran very well after the offseason updates (new stick coils/plugs) and general maintenance.
Ty Howard, the local stud was there giving a private lesson, and as we know him, he swung by to shoot the crap with us between sessions. We were running the track clockwise, which makes the technical track even MORE techical, but Ty gave us a few tips…made the day even that much more fun.
Great day! Nothing broken, nothing crashed…couldn’t have been better.
