I’m getting ready to take the bike out for my first ride alone. It won’t be a long ride maybe 45 minutes. I just want to get on it!!!
I’m a teacher and yesterday was our first day of summer vacation. It poured all day. Today, hubby is at work. He gets home at 7 and we have plans to ride for a little bit before it gets dark.

I liked it at first but then I got kind of lonley when I saw whole groups of bikers all going somewhere together so I joined a women’s riding group. It’s been fun so far, I am also going to start riding with my work friend who rides. I rode to work today and it was freezing this morning (45 degrees) but at 230p when I get the heck out of here it will be 78, yeah! Which reminds me I need to take the liner out of my jacket now!
Have an awesome summer by the way, I wish I had the whole summer off, how cool would that be? I can not even fathom.

I absolutely loved going out by myself. Love it, love it, love it….
No new issues…
As I was going out on the main road, a couple of bikes went by and when they waved at me, I felt like I was part of an exclusive club.
I’m going to Alaska next week on a cruise and I don’t want to leave my bike long enough to go!!!
June 5, 2009 at 6:47 pm #19366CandiceParticipantThat’s awesome, good job! I completely felt the same way the first time another biker acknowledged me, I couldn’t wait to come home and tell my husband, very exciting.
Enjoy your cruise, your bike will be there when you get back.
June 5, 2009 at 6:58 pm #19368kellymchParticipantCurious that your husband doesn’t ride, Candice. I’m the one who wanted the bike in our house and my husband knew that either he got one, too or I was gone without him. LOL!!! He decided to get on board. He’s new at this, too.
It wouldn’t have bothered me if he didn’t want to ride. I’d have gone without him. It just happened that our neighbors were selling both their bikes and it worked out for us.
June 5, 2009 at 7:04 pm #19369CandiceParticipantHe had a bad case of roadrash back in college and after that he was scared all the time so that was the end of that. Some cager’s tire blew and all the pieces were flying towards his head, he swerved into gravel and skidded to a stop. He didn’t want to ruin my dream though, I’m 36 and I only decided last June or July that I wanted to ride so he said if I passed the class and I still wanted to ride that I could get a bike. I really liked it, I ride the 33 miles to work when the weather is cooperating, it’s great!
So, that’s good that you and your husband can ride together, you will both have fun for sure. I ride with my brother sometimes, he’s been riding a sportbike for years.
