I am looking to purchase my first motorcyle but need some extra opinions on what would be best. I have taken the MSF class and have expierence riding my brother-in-laws CBR1000, yes he is a good brother, I got the same reaction from the teachers of the class. I am comfortable riding it but would prefer something smaller. He recomends a 600 of various types and used for my first one.

There are quite a few of them on the used market, which helps you out. I’d steer clear of the CBR600 for a couple of years, and I’m completely ignorant of the Yamaha offerings.
